Huawei has faced a lot of challenges this year, suffering from the ban from the US Government followed by similar reactions from different US companies. However, the Chinese giant is not relenting in its efforts to stand tall and weather the storm.
Huawei has announced and released a new mid-range mobile device Huawei Y9s in December. The smartphone has an extraordinary 6.59” HUAWEI Ultra FullView Display with 91% screen-to-body ratio with 2340 x 1080 FHD and 391 PPI, 4000 mAh big battery and 48MP camera.
Huawei Y9s Review
Hardware
Huawei Y9s is powered by its own HUAWEI Kirin 710F Octa-core Processor (4 x Cortex-A73 Based 2.2 GHz + 4 x Cortex-A53 Based 1.7 GHz). It has a 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM internal memory which can be extended to 512GB via a microSD card.
Design and Display
Huawei Y9s has a body dimension of 77.2 mm Width, 163.1mm Height and 8.8mm thickness. It weighs approximately 206 g (plus the battery). It has a 6.59 inches display with a rounded corners design on the Fullview Display, and an aluminum frame. The phone deviated a little from the popular rear-mounted fingerprint sensor to using a side-mounted fingerprint sensor together with the power button. The same sensor is used to awake the voice assistant by long-pressing the button for about 1 second to and 3 seconds press to power off the device.
The display is made up of an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen (16M colors). It uses a pop-up camera for its 16 MP front camera, this makes it possible to achieve a completely fullscreen display.
Camera
Huawei Y9s has a triple camera set-up at the rear, with a 48 MP (wide), 8 MP (ultrawide), 2 MP (depth sensor). The camera set-up makes a 1200 wide range photo a possibility with its 8MP ultrawide angle lens. The selfie camera is made up of a 16 MP pop-up front camera –like in Oppo Reno 2F– that automatically pops up in a short time when you take selfies and retracts when you are done.
Battery
The battery is a Non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery without fast charging.
